If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably spent a large portion of the weekend listening to Ariana Grande‘s ‘Thank U, Next’ and dedicating it to your (probably) very short list of ex partners.
With the hashtag for the new single taking over Twitter, it didn’t take long for a particular meme about the track to go viral; and it basically involves a major error on Apple Music’s part.
As Elite Daily pointed out, the streaming service claimed that lyrics read: “But this one gon’ last / ‘Cause her name is Aubrey,” despite the fact that Ariana was clearly making reference to herself (Ari) being the person who’d always have her own back.
While some fans inevitably dragged Drake into the drama, others speculated that Ariana has a secret twin called Aubrey who is currently locked in a basement somewhere a la Poot Lovato.
Clarifying what she actually said, the 25-year-old took to Twitter to @ Apple Music in the message: “I said Ari fam,” before giving credit to Spotify for “getting it right.”
For anyone who is still yet to hear the track, Ari’s opening verse makes reference to her relationships with Pete Davidson and Mac Miller.
“Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful / Wish I could say ‘thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel.”
