Riverdale Is Getting A Second Spin-Off Show

He said: “We’re still early on in the process and it will be very different from Riverdale.”

Which is really exciting, especially since the hype surrounding season 3 of Riverdale doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Diving into different aspects of the Archie Comics and the world it’s set in can only be a good thing.

And with the first spin-off show, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, dropping on Netflix in October, will there be a cross-over?

Unfortunately for us all, it doesn’t look like there will be a Riverdale/The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina cross-over coming up and definitely not in season one of the first spin-off.

We’re so here for Riverdale taking over the world, and it looks like the franchise is set on doing just that, with a second spin-off show being announced.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasaz, Riverdale’s screenwriter, revealed at the TCA Press Tour that the team behind the Netflix hit are in the development stages of a very ‘different’ sister-show.

Roberto said: “I think right now we’re just making sure that the shows have their own identities and own set of rule.”

Which makes sense, but that doesn’t mean we’re not just a little bit disappointed that there’s not going to be any witchy madness going down in Riverdale any time soon.

On a positive note though, the flashback episode in season 3 will reveal the secret the parents of Riverdale have been hiding for the past two seasons.

And it looks like Lili Reinhart is who we owe a thank you to for the ep, with Roberto saying: “We’ve been teasing this for years, going back to season one. I call this the ‘Lili Reinhart Memorial episode’.

“She’s been wanting to do a flashback episode for years.”

For the episode, the younger actors will play the characters of their parents. KJ Apa will play teenage Fred, his characters dad in the show etc. Which sounds confusing but isn’t that the whole point of the show? You never really know what’s going on.
